Nicky Romero speaks out on story behind "I could be the one" with Avicii

When Tim's death news came in, I felt the same way like when I heard Michael Jackson's news of passing away. But Tim was much more personal - Nicky Romero (EDM artist who worked with Avicii)

"Avicii, the Grammy-nominated electronic dance DJ who performed sold-out concerts for feverish fans around the world and also had massive success on U.S. pop radio, died Friday. He was 28 " - this was the headline on all news channels and articles on 20th April 2018. The most loved EDM producer has left us too soon!

Etan, an user writes in Quora:

Because most of his music made it onto radios worldwide. Such as Wake Me Up, Hey Brother, Levels, The Days/Nights, Without You, Waiting For Love; probably the most recognizable Avicii tracks to this day.

However, popularity≠quality (take literally any trashmello track as an example). So many of Tim’s progressive house works go unnoticed in the sea of mainstream EDM/country. X You, Bromance, Silhouettes, Dear Boy, and City Lights are some of these.

Avicii was a fuckin genius with production; it was basically what he had his passion for. He developed that over his teen years and got his first signing at 18. There he was thrust into the mainstream audience and suddenly took on DJing as well to perform in front of his fans.

“I’ve always been a producer – that’s how I see myself first. The DJing came second as a way for me to be able to perform.” -Avicii

Even though he wasn’t prioritizing DJing at first, he still did it because he cared about his fans. And if you see any of his live shows, he’ll never pick up the microphone to interrupt. Just his legendary hand movements and top-notch music.

In this blog I am writing about of one of his hit track: "I could be the one" with Nicky Romero who is also a popular EDM artist.

"I Could Be the One" is a song by Swedish DJ Avicii and Dutch DJ Nicky Romero, which features uncredited production from Iranian-Swedish record producer Arash Pournouri and uncredited vocals from Swedish singer Noonie Bao.

The song was released as a digital download in Sweden and the Netherlands on December 26, 2012. It peaked at number three on the Swedish Singles Chart. Internationally, the single topped the charts in Hungary and the United Kingdom, peaked within the top 10 in Australia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and the Republic of Ireland and the top 20 of the charts in Austria and New Zealand.

Avicii vs Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One (Nicktim)

Back then I just thought this woman was crazy, now I grew up and can totally relate to her. Adulthood sucks!!!!

This song makes me cry for no reason, definitely nostalgia. Miss old edm 😢

"I think i´m trapped into somebody else´s master plan. Go to school, get a job, get a mortgage. All I´m really doing is dying."

I was 17 when this song came out. Now I’m 26. I wish I could go back in time 🥺, however I will enjoy my 20s to the fullest!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Listen to what Nicky Romero has to say about the production of I could be the one with Avicii.

Seems like Nicky had no idea that the track was going to be a hit in anyway. It was Avicii who made him realize about the power of the EDM track!

And here's the lyrics for Avicii vs Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One:

Do you think about me when you're all alone? The things we used to do, we used to be I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free Do you think about me when the crowd is gone? It used to be so easy, you and me I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free When you need a way to beat the pressure down When you need to find a way to breathe I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free

If you never see me when the crowd is gone It used to be so easy, can't you see? I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free I could be the one to make you feel that way I could be the one to set you free
