Coldplay are a British rock band formed in London in 1996 formed by Vocalist, rhythm guitarist and pianist Chris Martin.
Coldplay have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling music artists. They have won numerous awards throughout their career, including nine Brit Awards, seven MTV Video Music Awards, eight MTV Europe Music Awards and seven Grammy Awards from 35 nominations.
The band's first three albums — Parachutes (2000), A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), and X&Y (2005) — are among the best-selling albums in UK chart history. In December 2009, Rolling Stone readers voted the group the fourth-best artist of the 2000s, and Q magazine included the group in their Artists of the Century list.

They're all extremely bright guys who went to top universities, they've mastered their instruments and write songs that have a beginning middle and end. There are few bands out there that can claim the same. Apart from Martin's run ins with the paps they make a point of letting their music speak for itself. I think that they're clever blokes who write amazing music rankles with a lot of people who expect a bit more rock n'roll to go with mega bands. They're incredibly respected in the biz, even people like Jay Z go out of their way to say they are genius and they're respectful themselves.... for Speed of Sound they asked Kraftwork permission to use the riff... not only only were Kraftwork amazed that they asked first but they went on to say how amazing the song was.
I think that people who make a point of dissing them are pretty much jealous saddos as they can't seem to make an argument against their music. Every one of their albums has been No 1 and they sell out stadiums all around the world and have been doing so for over a decade.... few bands can claim the same.
Their live concerts are fantastic - the one thing that always stood out for me was how 'perfect' their songs were when compared to the studio versions... they are that good! For me there's nothing more annoying going to see a big band and seeing they can't play as well as their iTunes version.
I always listen to them when I fly and feel in a good mood when I land..... oh, and one of their new songs could easily be played as 'house' in any Ibiza club and fill the floor.
I think people who make a point of saying they don't like Coldplay are slightly disturbed... in a bad way, especially as the band members make a point of keeping a low profile... I can understand not liking Martin's voice... but their music?... there has to be something wrong with you.

Did you know that the song was originally composed and produced by Avicii?
Tim Bergling, known by his stage name Avicii, was a Swedish DJ, remixer, record producer, musician, and songwriter. At the age of 16, Bergling began posting his remixes on electronic music forums, which led to his first record deal.
A post from Quora:
I grew up with this man’s music. Before/after competitions in gymnastics and diving, track and cross country tournaments, swim meets, stunt showcases, and more, I would listen to this guy. His music always hyped me up before an event, getting my blood flowing and my adrenaline pumping. And after? If I’d won, I’d celebrate by blasting his music through the car’s stereo.
Billboard lists these 4 songs as well, that were produced by Avicii, apart from Coldplay's - A Sky Full Of Stars
David Guetta – “Lovers on the Sun”
Madonna – “Devil Pray”
Conrad Sewell – “Taste The Feeling”
Coldplay – “Hymn for the Weekend”
Here's a video from YouTube that shows Avicii producing the instrumental for Coldplay.
Chris Martin can be seen saying: You're so talented man! You are so talented!
